The Importance of Social Media in Marketing
I recently ran across a free e-book by Bernie Borges called Marketing 2.0. I am still in the process of reading through all of the information, but the author brings up some very valid points about how the old methods of marketing no longer work and how to leverage the social media to market for the future. If you are interested in reading the e-book, you can get your hands on it here:

Thoughts about the new Windows 7
I have always felt that Windows Vista was a transitional operating system that would not really gain significant market share except for those who bought computers with Windows Vista pre-installed. Windows Vista had a pretty rough start, but now at service pack 2, Windows Vista has become a very stable and functional operating system. In my opinion, Windows Vista was meant to transition us from the mindset of Windows XP and into the future.

Well, now the future operating system is here and it is arriving earlier than expected! I have been consistently running Windows 7 since the beta stage and I must say that I was impressed then and am still impressed today. As of right now, all of my computers have been upgraded to the latest build of Windows 7 and every single one of them is running strong and without issues.

Now the question is, why should someone upgrade their computers to Windows 7 if Windows XP is running just fine? There are several reason why you should consider running Windows 7 in your business.

First off, Windows 7 is a piece of cake to deploy either by using the DVD or by using Windows Deployment Services. The Windows 7 installation process is a refreshing upgrade from that of its predecessors. The entire installation process is driven by a GUI that does not require a technical mastermind to navigate

Secondly, Windows 7 is much more secure than its predecessors and will help in reducing the number of virus and spyware infections hurting your business productivity. We still recommend a good anti-virus and anti-spyware application be installed though. Here at WMBTech, we recommend a product called Vipre by Sunbelt Software.

Thirdly, Windows 7 is much more aesthetically pleasing and much easier to navigate than its predecessors. In my experience, I have found the new interface to be easy to get used to because it just makes sense.

Last but not least, I should mention Windows XP Compatibility mode. With Windows XP compatibility mode, you can run mission critical legacy applications on Windows 7 seamlessly using the latest in virtualization technology.

In short, Windows 7 is faster, more secure, more stable, and easier to use than Windows XP. According to the latest word from Microsoft, Windows 7 will be publicly available on October 22nd, 2009. If you would like to take a closer look at Windows 7 I encourage you to take a look at the website or contact us for a demo.
